Levels of Care Update – Thriving at Home Report

The Levels of Care Expert Panel and Care Watch agree that regulation should establish a standard basket of home and community services available to all older Ontarians. The report, however, does not include funding. We now call upon government decision makers to identify and earmark the resources needed to make the Levels of Care framework a reality.

Although “patients first” is the underlying principle, the focus is on clinical care providers. Restructuring discussions should also include the voices of older adults, family caregivers, and the non-health community-based organizations that provide critical home and community care services.
