Provinces and territories are responsible for health services, so provincial elections get a lot of attention. Municipalities are the behind-the-scenes players. They are responsible for much of what affects our daily lives – public health, safety, transportation, housing, community amenities, and recreational opportunities. They provide the services that help build healthy populations and communities.
