13 January 2017: Open letter to the the Minister of Health Canada and the Ontario Minister of Health and Long-Term Care
Canada’s population is ageing. Older Canadians need programs and national standards that provide needed in-home and community support services that will ensure our continued health and independence, and prevents premature entrance to the acute care system. Care Watch is writing this OPEN Letter to urge both levels of government to develop and enact a National Home and Community Care Framework. 2 February 2016: Care Watch Ontario Budget Submission 2016
The following initiatives are Care Watch’s priorities for budget funding:
- Increase investment in the home and community care sector to support system change
- Ensure dedicated funding to set up and support local service coordination at the community level
- A dedicated envelope of funding for community care sector and services – not integrated funding
