Party Election Responses

To help seniors  determine how they may cast their ballots on June 7, Care Watch Ontario invited all four parties competing in the 2018 Provincial Election (Liberal, New Democrat, Progressive Conservative and Green) to outline their approach and commitment to home care and community support services. Care Watch Ontario advised the parties and the party leaders that it would be sharing response received, along with its commentary respecting those responses.

Logos of Ontario's main political partiesAs of May 20, 2018, responses have been received from the Green Party of Ontario and the Ontario New Democratic Party.  Care Watch will continue to monitor and, when available, provide updated information and feedback on the Liberal and Progressive Conservative commitments.  In the meantime, Care Watch drew upon information from public sources, such as the Throne Speech and Budget (Liberal Party), website and public media sources (PC) to identify respective positions on home care and community support services.

Seniors are encouraged to review the parties’ proposals and commitments to home care and community support services, and consider those responses and commitments in determining their votes.  Think about how the responses will affect you personally.  Ask candidates about their personal positions and commitments.
