Care Watch is a senior citizen-led organization that advocates for high quality, affordable, and equitable home and community care for Ontario’s elderly.
Care Watch monitors policy and practice related to supportive home and community care for senior citizens across Ontario. We prepare position statements and submissions to government on relevant issues, and develop fact sheets and summaries (“backgrounders”), research reports, and other media such as presentations and videos. Past initiatives range from the production of handbooks and reports, development of a community phone line and an educational home care board game.
Care Watch has received funding from numerous provincial and federal agencies, including the Ontario Trillium Foundation, the Status of Women Canada, and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council.
